Analog/Mixed-signal IC Designer

                      

Purpose of the Role

To take an analog IC design role for RF and mixed-signal chips

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

 

  • Design various analog, RF and mixed signal chips based on the silicon-on-sapphire (SOS) CMOS processes for internal and external products
  • Design of analog circuit blocks including circuit simulation, layout, parasitic extraction and verification for Silicon-on-Sapphire (SOS) CMOS processes
  • Participate in design reviews
  • Documentation of design cycle
  • Some process design kit (PDK) development  

 

People

  • Present at conferences and seminars if required
  • Support the Compressed Reticle program  
  • Discuss requirements with customers
  • Quality assurance documentation support, write design manuals, cell libraries documentation, etc.
  • Participate positively and proactively with colleagues to achieve project outcomes
  • Communicate and share research findings with colleagues, highlighting key areas of interest

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

Education and Experience:

  • Electrical Engineering degree with experience in main aspects of analog IC design:
  • Schematic, testbenches and simulation
  • Parasitic extraction and post-layout simulation
  • Layout, DRC and LVS experience is a big plus but not essential
  • Chip verification experience is highly desirable, but not necessary
  • Experience in RF IC design is a big advantage, but not essential

 

Technical skills:

  • Strong analog design skills as detailed above
  • Proficient in the use of at least one major CAD suite such as Cadence, ADS, AWR, Mentor Graphics etc.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor device physics and technology is a plus.
  • High-frequency measurement experience is considered a plus.
  • Experience in design and implementation of test systems an advantage
  • Some experience in programming/scripting languages is desirable
