Purpose of the Role
The primary role of the foundry manager is to be the interface between wafer foundry and foundry customers. Foundry customers include external foundry customers as well as internal product and technology development teams.
The ideal candidate will have some background in design of mixed signal integrated circuits, CMOS processing or RF applications.
The role will include working closely with:

Sales and Marketing to support foundry customers;

Manufacturing and QA to understand the latest state of the manufacturing processes;

Design Engineering on PDK development and implementing the foundry and back-end processes for internal product development.
- The primary point of technical support for all foundry products provided to the customer.
- Handle routine technical enquiries from customers regarding process, PDK etc. Some liaising with internal teams may be required for complex questions.
- Be the first point of contact for foundry customer questions, complaints or feedback.
- Maintain a list of foundry customers and send out updates on PDKs, foundry offerings, process changes etc.
- Assist foundry customers with simulation models and design rules.
- Review all engineering deliverables to foundry customers and provide/organise reviews of external foundry customer designs if requested.
- Handle mask data for internal and external customers, including final DRC checks, mask conversions etc.
- Organise backend processing including sawing/laser scribing and assembly. Some of these services are provided by Sapphicon, others are from sub-contractors.
- Manage wafer lot starts, tracking and foundry customer updates
- Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Team to feedback any foundry customer needs and competitive information.
- Some domestic and international travel required to support customers & tradeshows.
- Publish management reports and cross-function reporting on critical foundry customer issues.
- Focus on customer satisfaction, quality and timeliness of Sapphicon deliverables, customer time-to-market, and profitability of the Sapphicon foundry service

Qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience required
- BSEE/MSEE with 5+ years of related industry experience
- Strong fundamentals of CMOS theory;
- Understand the basics of integrated circuits designs;
- Hands on design/application experience in analog/mixed-signal or RF designs is a plus

Background in RF and microwave IC design.
Strong communication skill, problem solver and organized.
Working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Word
Performs well under pressure
5-10 years experience in the semiconductor or the electronics industry in a development role or a technical customer engineering role.
Previous experience in a customer support and project management is a plus.
